# API overview

> Use the REST API to manage agents, place calls, and retrieve results.

Use the API from your server-side application with [Labs credentials](/api-reference/authentication).

## Base URL

```text theme={null}
https://agents.labs.bandwidth.com/api/v1
```

The endpoint reference includes `/api/v1` in every path. Add that path to the host only once. If your workspace uses a different console address, confirm its API endpoint with your administrator.

## First request

Set `LABS_AUTH_API_KEY` and `VOAI_ORGANIZATION_ID` in your application's environment, then list your agents:

```bash theme={null}
curl --fail-with-body 'https://agents.labs.bandwidth.com/api/v1/workflow/fetch' \
  -H "X-BW-LABS-AGENTS-API-KEY: ${LABS_AUTH_API_KEY}" \
  -H "X-VOAI-ORGANIZATION-ID: ${VOAI_ORGANIZATION_ID}"
```

## Request and response formats

Send JSON bodies with `Content-Type: application/json`, except for upload requests that specify another content type. Resource endpoints return JSON. Artifact downloads return the requested file or a redirect.

The API uses `workflow` for an agent. Run endpoints use the integer `workflow_id`; outbound call endpoints accept either the stable Agent UUID or an API Trigger UUID. See [agent identifiers](/configurations/agent-uuid).

Follow the [developer quickstart](/developer/quickstart), then use the endpoint reference for request fields and responses.
