# MCP quickstart

> Connect your assistant and verify read-only access to your agents.

You need an Agent Builder account, membership in a workspace, and an MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP, OAuth, and Client ID Metadata Documents (CIMD).

## 1. Select your workspace

Sign in to [Agent Builder](https://agents.labs.bandwidth.com/workflow) once and select the workspace you want to use.

## 2. Add the server

Follow [client setup](https://docs.agents.labs.bandwidth.com/mcp/clients.md) and use this exact server URL, including the trailing slash:

```text theme={null}
https://agents.labs.bandwidth.com/api/v1/mcp/
```

Complete the Labs sign-in and consent flow. Your client manages OAuth tokens and refresh. Leave API-key headers empty; this server uses a dedicated OAuth connection.

## 3. Verify access

Ask your connected assistant:

```text theme={null}
Use bandwidth_agents to call get_current_workspace, then list_agents.
Show the workspace name and my agents' names and IDs without changing anything.
```

An empty agent list is valid for a workspace with no agents. If the workspace is unexpected, follow [workspaces and permissions](https://docs.agents.labs.bandwidth.com/mcp/workspaces.md).

## 4. Choose a task

Browse the [tool reference](https://docs.agents.labs.bandwidth.com/mcp/tools/index.md), try an [agent workflow](https://docs.agents.labs.bandwidth.com/mcp/examples.md), or use [troubleshooting](https://docs.agents.labs.bandwidth.com/mcp/troubleshooting.md) if connection or discovery fails.
