You need the Labs super_user role, Admin or Owner workspace access, a telephony provider account, and credentials for that account. The available providers are Bandwidth, Twilio, Telnyx, and jambonz; the configuration form lists the fields required by each provider.

Add a connection

  1. Open Phone numbers in the console.
  2. Add a telephony configuration and choose your provider.
  3. Enter the requested credentials and save.
  4. Open the saved configuration and add your phone numbers.
  5. Select a default outbound configuration and caller number for calls that do not specify one.
You can keep multiple configurations in one workspace. A phone number belongs to a configuration; check both when selecting a caller or assigning an agent.

Provider guides

Twilio

Connect account credentials and a voice number.

Telnyx

Connect a Call Control application.

Receive and place calls

Assign an Inbound workflow to a number and complete your provider’s inbound setup. For outbound calls, use the agent tester, a campaign, or the API. Availability of destinations, caller IDs, and transfer behavior depends on your provider configuration. Test the actual route and destination before using it with customers.
